September Budget

I decided to post my monthly budget. Maybe someone seeing this will decide now is the time to start their financial journey as well.

I always see people post about having a budget, talking about their budget, how much they need, cutting their budget down, etc. I never actually see someone posting what their budget looks like.

I finally did see someone post theirs and it was the kick I needed to get going on my financial journey.

So, in hopes that this helps someone, here is my monthly budget categories and cost. These are not in order.

  1. Rent- $875
  2. 5 CCs- $500
  3. Savings- $250
  4. Debt Payoff- $200
  5. Emergency Fund- $167
  6. Car Replace- $150
  7. Self- $35
  8. Utilities- $150
  9. Car Insurance- $110.12
  10. Storage/Clothing- $100
  11. Internet- $100
  12. Me Spending- $100
  13.  Car Repair- $100
  14. Kickoff- $5
  15. Garbage- $50
  16. Verizon- $50
  17. Household- $50
  18. Tires- $40
  19. Car Gas- $?
For those of you who are interested to see what that all adds up to, if my math is correct it is $3,781.80

I also receive $393 a month in child support so that is going to help pad my budget. But $393 for 3 kids doesn't go far especially when they all usually need clothes and shoes at the same time. Thankfully as they've gotten older they don't run through those as fast.

I figure I need to bring home $1,899 per paycheck. I don't count on the child support because I don't want to be hurting if it doesn't come.

I know that my gas cost is the most expensive thing on my budget but I drive 30 minutes into town for work. Right now I'm trying to gauge how much I need to set aside for gas so I'm tracking the gas cost and how many gallons I have to buy.
